Auditioning with Impact is nothing to fear! Even if you have never auditioned or performed before, we do our best to create a relaxed, stress-free environment to make auditions as comfortable as possible.
Please remember to bring a 4x6 headshot photograph to your audition clearly labeled with your name and age on the back. We will use the headshots to help us fit the pieces of the casting process together when auditions have ended. For sample headshots, please click here.
We will begin with simple introductions so all our campers know each other a little better, then play some acting improv games to get you warmed up and more comfortable working with us and your fellow actors. After this we will hand out scripts and begin auditioning. When auditions begin, please do your best to be a quiet and respectful audience for your fellow actors as they read lines. That way, when it's your turn they will give you the same courtesy.
Our audition style is a simple cold-reading. Do not feel the need to memorize any monologues, poetry, or anything else ahead of time, nor should you purchase a separate script early to study before auditions. While you can feel free to look up the story ahead of time, there's no need to buy a script -- don't forget, your script is included in your tuition price! If you are nervous about reading lines for the first time in front of others, don't worry. Just remember that everyone else is in the same boat as you, and we are all there to support you as you are auditioning. For more audition tips, click HERE!
Another great thing to remember about Impact is that every camper is guaranteed to be cast in a part. Some parts may have more lines than others, but just remember that all roles are important. Also, if you do not want a large part, please be sure to let us know before auditions are over.
